We were so excited to make it back to Idaho. We love it there. I drove the horse trailer and my man drove the Uhaul. It took us a good 16 hours and crying children but we did it. For the fourth of July weekend we enjoyed time with family. They set up camp in the pasture and we put a little fence around them to keep the cows out. This is my man and my dad putting that fence in. There were also beautiful wild daisy's all around welcoming in summer.
Now when you hear the word work do you ever cringe or think "oh please not today, I have more than enough on my plate and do not need to add to it." Have you ever stopped to think about the value of work? How has it blessed you? How has it effected your personal or family life?
I have a good friend Victor Baumgarten in Germany and He is the Photographer for this photograph and the vision behind it. This is my Son with his Father's shadow. This picture could be portrayed in many ways so I will leave that up to you, but I do want to say my heart goes out to the families of the fallen and I look forward to Memorial Day to remember them.
I think of my Grandpa Haskett who served in the Navy during WWII and all that he fought for. I loved hearing his stories growing up and love to remember him. Have a Good Memorial day everyone!
First off, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are a huge part of my life. I know everyone has different views on what they believe and I respect that. It seems there are times in our lives where we need extra prayers and we tend to pray a little more when things are a little rough or questionable and pray a little less when things are going well and smooth.
I hope I can learn someday to always have a prayer in my heart and be mindful of my amazing Father in Heaven. Lately we have been praying a lot to have things work out the way we hope for them to. I hope that my desires of what I want and what our family wants line up with my Heavenly Father's Plan for us. I believe no matter where we are, we can help others and help impact their lives for good.
Lead me, Guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way, teach me all that I must do to live with Him someday.
My boys (my kiddos) have done that for me lately. Whether it is locking my keys in the car, my battery dead in the middle of a blizzard or I lost something and need to find it, they are always there saying, "Mom, lets pray." And Always my prayer is answered. Help arrives as we say amen, or I get the inspiration I need to help me and my little family. I am grateful for the faith of these children I call mine. What a beautiful gift from heaven they are to me. They help me become a better person everyday, even when I have set backs and struggle they are there to lift me a long the way just like my Loving Heavenly Father does.
God is good and he loves us and wants to be apart of our lives. He is just a prayer away.
I love the message in this story. We never know what someone might be going through or what trials they are facing personally. That is what I love about this message and turning something that could have become more of a hardship for someone, they turned into a great blessing. I hope we all can do a little bit of a kind deed for those around us, concealed and watch the deed unfold.
Since I was a little girl I have always heard that you should keep a journal and for the most part I did. But with time and life getting busy I found it hard to open up a journal and actually write about my day. I needed more space between writings to actually have something to write about. Then I started understanding the wonderful purpose behind a journal.
Hearing about my Grandparents and Great Grandparents and what they were like, the adventures they had, the life they lived through journals, pictures, voice recordings and video let me have a glimpse into their lives and drew me closer to them.
I now keep a family journal with a blog. An easy way to share with family and friends about the comings and going of my life but the real reason is for my children. I do it for them. So when they are older they have something to look back on, that their children can see what their grandparnets were like. Life is so precious and short in some ways that if I was to leave this world tomorrow then I would want to have something to give them and that would be my journal.
I also write to remember the tender mercies from my Heavenly Father. There are countless times in my life, whether they be big or small, where I have felt like the Lord was lifting me up, protected me in some way, blessed me with a small miracle or brought me the beautiful gift of being a mother. When I am struggling with whatever any of us struggles with, I can look back at the times where my life has been blessed, where I was happy or I got the help I needed. When you look back during dark times at ways that can help you through those trials then you will be lifted again through that trial you are going through.
Here are some fun ways to keep a journal that may fit your lifestyle.....
