Before a week ago I was one of those that only used cast iron to cook with if we were in the outdoors and I was camping. My husband changed that when he got me some cast iron skillets and pots. We took them out of the package and they already come pre-seasoned but we wanted to give them an extra touch. So we looked up how to do it and it has turned out great so far.
We did it again with some Lodge Cast Iron I had in our camping gear that were in much needed TLC for seasoning (which means to grease them up good so they don't rust.....not salt or pepper them) believe it or not I used to think, "Do you like rub it down with salt or something???" glad I don't think that way anymore :)
